Rotary Receives Governor's Proclamation for 9-1-1 BBQ Haleyville Rotary Club received a proclamation from Governor Bob Riley  making the 9-1-1 BBQ Cook Off a recognized state contest.

Alabama has  six officially sanctioned contests. The winners of these contest vie  in a random drawing to determine which team will represent Alabama in  the National Kansas City Bar-B-Que Cook Off at Jack Daniels in  Lynchburg, TN. The governor's proclamation was one of the requirements made by the Kansas City Bar-B-Que Association to make the  Haleyville contest a fully sanctioned event and be recognized  nationally. The Rotary Club had 29 entries last year and 35 registered  for this year's cook off.
